by Susan Hughes

Victor is seeing how different girls and boys were treated in the village. Since they were eight now, he went to school, while his sister, Linesi fetches water at least five times during the day with a bucket without going to school. Victor’s teacher begins to speak about equality and asks the students to see how it is shown in their own lives. Victor comes up with a plan to allow it all to work out. No spoilers, but it just shows the love for family and the need for education. The illustrations is something that I also loved. You felt like you were there with Victor and Linesi in their everyday life.

This is best book for showing the differences in sleep habits. This would be a good classroom library book for someone who has a hard time falling asleep to read. This book goes through as a cat, in the different kinds of beds to even what exactly what happens to your body when you fall asleep. This book had so much information that I thought I knew, but I really didn’t!! How animals sleep, to what nighttime workers do. The illustrations are wonderful and allow you to see what happens when you sleep and when you can’t.

Cardinal shows Fox how they will be together forever, through memories, and feathers being found. I loved how the author also put a note at the end to parents and also a list of how each age group shows grief. The illustrator did such a wonderful and beautiful job at the pretty pictures.

24. My Silly Illy

My Silly Illy by Campbell Dwyer

Publication Date: March 15, 2021

14 Pages

This is the best book!! I am a special ed one on one para pro that works with a child with an ostomy bag. It is wonderful for a book to be around for a child just like him!! I would recommend this book for every classroom as a read aloud or used individually for children who don’t realize that children are different in many ways.
Back to the book, it shows different children and where they live and how they interact with having a bag. There is also a wonderful note at the end of the book to the parents of said children, for them to receive a pick me up that they don’t often get when having a child with different needs.
