55. A Beautifully Foolish Endeavor By: Hank Green

This is the second book in a really great series. I have read quite a lot of books since I read the first one, so I had to go back and look it up.

I am thinking that this will be made into movies. I can see it as a movie.

This is also a book where each chapter is a different character talking.

88. Collected Fictions by: Jorge Luis Borges

I tried. I really did. Each little story was only a couple of pages each, but I couldn’t get into the ones that I read.

87. The Little Mermaid By: Francesca Salucci

I didn’t know that the movie, the Little Mermaid was based on a real book. The book that I read did not have mermaids as gorgeous as Ariel in it. The bad woman was an ugly catfish at the bottom of the ocean. The ending was different. The little mermaid named Marina ended up getting her flippers back and was so excited to be back with her family in the ocean.

86. Pippi Longstocking By: Astrid Lindgren

This is another one that I was not looking forward to. The main character makes me think of a brat. She reminds me of Junie B Jones!!!!! But, it’s also like she doesn’t know any better. She wasn’t taught that you don’t just do what you want to do. You should go to school and not mouth off to the teacher. She even asked at the end of the day, “Did I do something wrong?” She did all day! I think that also in the times of when words just either didn’t mean what it did, or they for some reason was used back then. Pippi Long stocking went to the circus with the neighborhood kids. She called some of the workers tramps. The word tramps was used many times. I am just glad that the book was only 116 pages because I had a hard time liking this character.

54. Short Stories: Autobiography of Columbus Short

I have loved Columbus Short since my sister got me to watch Stomp the Yard with her. The Losers has also been a movie that I loved. I really liked reading this book. It felt like you were sitting on the couch or having phone conversations with him. He never acted like he wasn’t at fault for some things. He also shared so much of his childhood, that you can see why some of his relationships were the way that they were. He showed his childhood while also going along with what we saw on TMZ or on the news years ago to tell his side of the story. I am glad that we get to see his side of the story.

53. The Marvelous Magicians By: Diane Zahler

This was the best book!! Mattie Marvel wood’s family is traveling performers. After a rough beginning, they leave where they have been traveling. Where they end up just happens to have a circus getting ready to begin. The scoop on Mattie’s family is that they all have powers that use in their act. Mattie can see what you are thinking, her brother has a vanishing act, her mother is a fortune teller and her father is an illusionist. Once they begin at this new circus, they find out that others might have their same kind of powers. They have always left places when they are found out. Will they leave? Will they use their powers to help others?
This book would be a wonderful read aloud for upper grades in elementary school. I also really enjoyed the narrator. She used her voice in a way that you felt like you were right in the middle of everything.

84. Robinson Crusoe By: Daniel Defoe

I don’t know why I’ve taken my time on reading this one. I did get it from the library as a….kind of picture book. It still told me the story!!! Robinson Crusoe! Fell off a ship and was stranded. I never understood how he had a dog with him on the island for so many years. Also, a parrot later in the years!!! He found and took care of goats. It took him years to build up his corn and barley batch!! He didn’t eat bread for so many years!!! He helped a man not be taken and he named him Friday and they both worked hard on the land. He did get a little crazy, is that the word? Okay, i would say crazy and made another fence after he already had a fence. He didn’t want anything to get it.

At last after so many years, a ship that was being under mutiny, stopped on the island. Robin and Friday was able to get the ship master back on the boat and moving. His only ask was to be able to go back home.

Robinson Crusoe spent 28 years on the island before he finally left!!!

Where the seniors go all around Seattle with clues and tries to destroy each other. Will she somehow team up Neil and they begin to see how they really aren’t so unlike each other? 52. Ask me one more time, whats for dinner! By: Meredith Masony

I have seen Meredith many times through her you tube videos and also when she was live on Facebook. She has always reminded me of a friend that has many kids and knows things.
I really enjoyed this booked. I liked that it felt like you were sitting on her couch while she folds clothes and she tells you about her day. Even though I have no children, in no way was this a book that turned me off. Her talking about her experiences as a mother was realistic to every woman in some way. If you want an easy read that will make you feel better about yourself or feel like you are not the only one that doesn’t have it all together, than this books is for you!!!!!
