TROPE-ICAL READATHON

I am so excited to begin this next readathon!! Its from August 1 until August 31. You can read the book ideas below, or if you just read, then the pages count toward your team!

I will be on team Contemporary/literary/Historical fiction because those are the books I like to read than any other category.

They will have twitter sprints and fun things, but i am mainly going to chart how much I have read and count the pages. I know that school starts back on Monday, and so it will help.me to have a project to work on.

I also have ideas from Facebook friends and have a list of the books that are at the library that go along with my 100 book poster. I am very excited.

Reading Rush 2020

This was my first time doing to the Reading Rush. In one week I read 11 books and got all of the badges. It helped me to find new friends who love books as much as I do. It also got me out of my reading slump.

Below is the badges that I earned and books that I read.

The books that I read throughout the week. Gatecrasher was by far my favorite.

Reading Rush 2020

Woohoo!! Well, I found these two great friends on YouTube. They do a reading rush each year where for one week you read as much as you can!! They also have certain kinds of books to look for to read. Ill post below. They also throughout the week have Twitter and Instagram times when you read with others. It makes it so exciting, especially to see what other people are reading.

But, I went over what I wanted to read and read 11 books!!! Next year I will buy the journal from them that you keep up with what you read and how many pages you read the whole time.

All the books I read during the reading rush
Here is the list that they gave for books to try to read.
My favorite book of the week.

40. Gatecrasher by Ben widdicombe

This is such a good book. I could not put it down. I think it was because I could relate and was interested in all that the author had to say. The author began his own column and was later able to write for other columns. He spoke about attending Ivana Trumps wedding. All of the Paris Hilton, Lindsey Lohan, and Brittney Spears times that I remember seeing on TV, he spoke about being right there. There were his almost interview with Epstein and other times that I remember hearing about. It felt like you were there right with him.

39. Arranged Marriage Fears by: Roxanne Amour

I just finished a very long book and needed a shorter one. This book was free on my kindle and only 76 pages. You should never judge a book by its cover, bc this is one that i loved reading.

Two girls switch identities at the train station to help each other. Grace goes on to help a girl that needs a nurse, while really running away from the gross old man that wants to marry her for her inheritance.

This is the first book that doesn’t just end all of a sudden and makes you try to find the next books in the series that you have to pay for.

38. A Life Once Dreamed by: Rachel Fordham

This was a book given to me on netgalley.

This was the best book I have read in a while. The main character moved away suddenly, leaving her boyfriend behind. Six years later, he comes to town as the new doctor. She is the school teacher at school and the author does a remarkable job of not making you hate her, because you have to wait to find the real reason she left home. This is a book I would reccomend to all of my friends and would indeed be a good book club book.

37. So youve been publicly shamed by: jon ronson

Someone on booktube talked about this book. Really, many different people talked about how great this book was.

It was really good. The author took his time and interviewed people who had been publicly shamed by something they put on the internet or someone put something about them on the internet. Many of the stories I had heard about but it was nice to see what happened to these people during and then after whatever they had gone through.

80. Hunger by: Knut Hamsun

This was another one on my 100 book poster. I started to like it when I first read it. A man trying to make his way and really just live in a time when everyone was hungry. Jobs were hard to find and keep bc places didnt need full time work. He was put in jail overnight when he lied but really couldn’t tell officers where he resided. But, he did get a good night’s rest on a real bed. Everyone who came past him, asking him for money he would either give his last coin, or tell them that he would help them later when he was paid.

I just couldnt finish it. I wanted to see how things worked out, but it was the same for him and others the whole time, day after day.

36. Lancaster Amish Secret by: Rebecca Price

This story was onky 79 pages. I really liked it, but the only bad thing is….is that is ends quickly and just wants you to read the next book in the series.
