64. Harry Potter and Prisoner of Azkaban

Harry Potter and Prisoner of Azkaban By: J K Rowling

Well, I am hooked on Harry Potter book. I stayed up way too late thinking that I would just finish the book. Then I couldn’t fall asleep. Okay, well on with the book.

Early on I told the husband that I had thoughts on how things were being done in the book.

  1. Hermione was going to two classes at the same time and I did figure that it was something to do with magic and time realms. I was correct.
  2. I thought that the teachers were really Sirius Black. That he was becoming them and that’s how he was able to come and go into the school.

I want to make it known that I still do not like Harry’s relatives. They are absolutely horrible to him. I am glad that he finally went mad and put the Aunt that is not really his aunt in her place.

I got a little teary eyed when Sirius Black asked if he wanted to stay with him during breaks. Harry was so excited to finally have somewhere to go to that he really wanted to.

63. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets BY: J K Rowling

I loved this book. I think that since I have seen parts of the movies when my sister watched them, I knew some of the characters. I also googled the names of characters to see who they have been played by in the movies.

I can see why everyone loves these books!

I won’t give anything away, even though I think I am the only person who has never read these books before. But, through out the book, I was thinking the secrets were one person or one thing and I liked at the end it wrapped it all up.

The thing is, I still do not like Harry’s relatives and I don’t even want to say there names!! The way that they treat him. I would have seen something and DFCS would have been over there in an instant. But, that’s my background of work easing it’s ugly head in there. I just want to make it clear that I can’t stand these three people who are not real.

62. The Last Battle

62. The last battle By: C S Lewis

SO, this is the last book in the whole Narnia package. If not my favorite, The Voyage of the Dawn Trader I think will always be.

I don’t want to give anything away or really talk about it at this point. Maybe I will write something or really all that happened later.

Here below is a summary if you would like to watch it.

61. The Silver Chair

61. The Silver Chair by CS Lewis.

Eustace is back. He is at school and with his friend Jill, they go in Narnia. They must go through Narnia, looking to help rescue the Prince from the evil Witch. At this point, Eustace is helpful and is not longer the bratty child that first went on the boat in the last book.

The children must work together and walk many miles and days, meeting many different types of things.

I really like how C S Lewis puts at least one or two characters in all of the books that have been in another. Did I say that right? I enjoy if I can not see how everyone is doing, at least in the books you can have one or two characters that you have read about it directly in the what you are reading right now.

There always seems to be a newcomer as well. This time is Jill. She at school could not imagine the truth in Eustace’s eyes as he talked about Narnia. Once there, you are engulfed in how things are. It is nice that there is always a character that has been to Narnia before, even if it is years.

60. The Voyage of the Dawn Trader (Audio)

60. The Voyage of the Dawn Trader (Audio) by CS Lewis

Well, here is the one that might be my favorite. Why does C S Lewis seem to always have a character that is so bratty? Using that word is very much out of kindness. Edmund in The Lion, the witch, and the wardobe and now the cousin Eustace, who if you say it really fast sounds like USELESS!! Is this just where I am in Quarantine 2020 and in life where people are just getting on my nerves?

Three characters, Edmund, Lucy, and their cousin Eustace are just dropped in the water and found and taken in by Prince Caspian! Oh, how I love Prince Caspian. He didn’t even realize how popular or how Royal he really was at first. So, they board the Dawn Trader and are taken in and given Narnia clothes and wonderful things to eat. A mouse takes care of them, in which he is ready for battle and a wonderful soldier, even though Eustace doesn’t even believe things can talk. I had a a little trouble in the first part of hearing Eustace yell and try to show who he was in the Real World and how he believed he was in charge. It took a little while for him to figure out that his Surname and all that he had, had nothing to do with him when he boarded the Dawn Trader. Well, doesn’t that make you think for a second.

They go with Prince Caspian to find the seven lords, that his evil uncle had banished. It turns out that each of them started a new life in different ways.

The book was very enjoyable to listen to do.

Extra Book 14: The Rose of Passion

Extra Book 14: The Rose of Passion By: Nana Poliakoff

Okay, this was a short story. I think only 30 pages. It said Clean Amish short story. The story was cute, a neighborhood girl falls in the love with an Amish boy down the way. But, the girl has a dream about the boy two times that shouldn’t be in an Amish Romance, so that was a little or really a lot different.

59. Prince Caspian: The Return to Narnia (Audio)

Prince Caspian: The Return to Narnia (Audio) By: CS Lewis

I loved this one. Such a good book. By the way that they had the children come back to Narnia within the first seconds of the book. Then only to find out that it was Prince Caspian who blew the horn that brought that them back. The kids felt more grown up. When they saw Aslan, they commented on how older and shaggier that he looked. Aslan said that he was the same age, only looking older because the children had been. For them to see how much has changed, where they lived and were in power before going back home.

How all the characters came back and how being away, Narnia had changed. Prince Caspian finding out he is in fact more noble than he realized. He always heard about the Narnia stories from his nurse growing up, and I loved how at the end, Aslan was able to save her. Prince Caspian was able to thank her for telling him all about the animals that spoke and how the woods and wildlife were.

And so, on the the next book.

58. The Horse and His Boy

58. The Horse and His Boy By: CS Lewis

This was the third book in the Narnia series that I am reading. I found a reading of it by one person on YouTube. I enjoyed listening to it. I liked that the characters from the other books showed up and they were still in Narnia. It was not my favorite but now on to the next one!!

57. The Lion, Witch and Wardrobe

57. The Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe By: C S Lewis

I found an audio of this book on YouTube. It had different voices for each character and so you felt like you were listening but was there throughout it.

I remember my sister loving this movie. James McAvoy, she fell in love with him bc of his part in it.

I started to listen and got the same feelings that I had when I read the first Harry Potter and saw how his aunt and uncle treated him. Edmund wasn’t just a brat. He wasn’t just like some of the kids that I see in school, or the people that get on your nerves when you are at the grocery store. It was like scraping your nails on a chalkboard b/c this character was so into himself, he could not see what was happening around him. He could not see what others would have instantly seen or smelled in the way that the Witch had spoken to him.

Aslan. I didn’t know and I kept saying that I didn’t know what was going to happen on that wooden table in the woods. How to the two young girls were the ones that helped Aslan to be comfortable and to look comfortable, even in his death.

Then he comes back. He makes it known that the Witch was not going to have any effect on how he was going to live his life.

After the battle and things settle down, the children find themselves going back through the wardrobe, years later as older mean and women. They find that they are just in the same day, as if nothing has happened. It was so good on so many levels. I can see why my husband read all of them when he was in middle school and can see why my sister was so fond of them when they became popular years and years ago.

And so, I am listening to them in Chronological order and not when they were published. My sister read them in order of publishing and found out through the last book, how the wardrobe came about. She told me it was the best surprise. I on the other hand read that book first and I loved seeing how the things that happened in the previous one, delved into this one.

Extra Book 13: Christmas at Pebble Creek

Extra Book 13: Christmas at Pebble Creek By: Vanessa Chapman

This book was only 30 pages. It was a cute story that wrapped everything up in the end. It was just enough to get a full story of how an Amish woman falls in love and becomes an illustrator, which she wanted all of her life to do.
