128. All Systems Down: The Murderbot Diaries by: Martha Wells.

Tropeical Readathon: Post Apocalypse and Number of pages

I enjoyed this. I was reading it like it was movie playing in my mind. A robot, not human but seemed it in many ways has to help a bunch of people keep themselves alive and work together. The robot reminded me of the robot from Reel Steal. The scientists and other character reminded me of a Sci fi movie like Firefly. I would definitely read the next book in the series and now totally understand why many people love the books. Also, the book wasn’t long at all, it wasn’t even 200 pages.

127. Stitches in Time by: Suzanne Woods Fisher

Tropeical Readathon: Counts as number of pages.

Such a good read!! When families in town are needed to take on and help fostering teenage girls, many jump at the chance. Mollie takes in two sisters that make her restless and makes the sheriff stop by her home often. You also learn about the other families that have taken in girls. Such a wonderful book. I didn’t realize that it’s a trilogy and you don’t miss out on anything from starting with the second in the series.

124. Gone into the Woods by: Gary Paulsen

Tropeical Readathon: Counts for number of pages

I remember reading Hatchett as a child and loving it. When I reread it last year, it still was one of my favorites. This book is an autobiographical story of the authors life. It was put into 5 different parts. After being left by his mother, he goes to live with his wholesome aunt and uncle who really give him his first home. While only staying a year, he developed skills that he would use his whole life. When his mother picks him back up one day, you can just begin to want to fight for this boy and want to take care of him. Another part shows how the library and a librarian helped him keep warm and also begin his love for learning. The last part discussed him going into the army and then it just all a sudden just stopped and it was the end. Many writers use their own life stories somewhere in the pages of the books that they write. I can see the author in the books that he has written.

123. The Calling By Suzanne Woods Fisher

The Inn at Eagle Hill Book 2

Tropeical Readathon: Counts as pages

This is the second book in the series and I loved it. It continued from the last book. It was tricky at times to remember all of the characters because they switched from each of them very quickly. Other than saying that, the storylines were comething new from a usual Amish book and so I really liked reading about the main family and the others that surrounded them. I even just put in for the third book from the library.

Colouring Outside the Lines!! By: Amanda Paull!! The Book is Out Now!!!

Synopsis:

Meet Katie: she’s about to marry the most wonderful man in the world. The planning is done, the checklist is checked. The future is set.

Having spent her twenties and thirties enjoying life with good friends and building a career she loves, it’s taken Katie until her forties to contemplate settling down. And she couldn’t be more delighted she waited.

So, why is her perfect groom standing gawping at her, wearing mismatched socks and sweating profusely? This can’t bode well.

With her special day in tatters, Katie has a decision to make. Does she snatch back the reigns of her old life and tighten her grip even more, or take a chance on change? Will she find the key to happiness at a Pilates class in a smelly old hall? Or is the curve ball heading her way too huge to handle?

If you like British humour and a flawed protagonist on an emotional journey, you’ll enjoy reading Amanda Paull’s latest novel, Colouring Outside the Lines – a heart-warming tale of shattered dreams, self-discovery and finding true love where you least expect it.

This was just a heartwarming book that reminded me of myself. The main character has OCD and is bombarded with all that it entails while getting married.

122. The Baby Promise By: Carolyne Aarsen

I really enjoyed reading this book and I think I finished it fast bc I wanted to know how it would end. Nick heads back to a ranch where his best friends pregnant widow is living. Nick begins to help on the farm and begins to get to know Beth. He recalls all of the wonderful things his best friend told him about his own wife. When they all hold secrets, I liked that in the middle everyone finally came out and talked about how their lives have really been. This sweet story is about a promise given to best friend, and how God puts just the right people in your life when you really need it.

121. The Letters By: Suzanne Woods Fisher

Tropeical Readathon: Counts as pages read

Back to the Amish again!! I bought this book and the next one in the series at the Gilmer County Library!! I can’t wait to begin the next one!!

This book had all of the tropes that I love. Friends to lovers, get rich quick scheme. There are many different characters in the book so at times I had to wait a second and remember how each of them fit in with the story. Rose is a widow that must live with her mother in law. So much has happened to her. When she decides to make her basement into a cute inn, all different things muster up within her home. Her neighbor tries to help her as much as he can while there are other smaller romances that appear with the other women in the book. This was a page turner and I couldn’t wait to finish it to see what happens. I would highly recommend this series to anyone.
